WORLD MARKET UPDATE

What's Next?
By Bob Rinear
We have a pretty extensive history of making statements that sound sort of off the wall. Well of course they do, because they usually aren't statements that the main stream media is allowed to say. Now I try my best not to pound my chest and repeat ad-nauseam about any correct calls, simply because 1) it's not my style and 2) we make some bad one's too. If you're going to crow about being right, you best fess up when you blow it.
But the news I saw Thursday put such a big smile on my face that I almost burst out in a chuckle. Why? Well for years I've been explaining to anyone that would listen that the Central banks are behind the stock market rise. Depending on the person hearing that, the response that I get from it might be as agreeable as "Yeah I thought so" to "Are you nuts?"  In fact, just recently I was told in an email from a quite "powerful" analysts that he's tired of me blaming everything from the Gold attack a couple weeks ago, to the market's rise on the Central Banks. Basically his theme was that CB's are there to do their best at managing underlying economies, not and I quote "distorting markets with your conspiracy explanations of their maneuvers".
So what do we see Thursday? Well according to Bloomberg in an Article by Sarah Jones...
Central banks, guardians of the world’s $11 trillion in foreign-exchange reserves, are buying stocks in record amounts as falling bond yields push even risk- averse investors toward equities.
In a survey of 60 central bankers this month by Central Banking Publications and Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc, 23 percent said they own shares or plan to buy them. The Bank of Japan, holder of the second-biggest reserves, said April 4 it will more than double investments in equity exchange-traded funds to 3.5 trillion yen ($35.2 billion) by 2014. The Bank of Israel bought stocks for the first time last year while the Swiss National Bank and the Czech National Bank have boosted their holdings to at least 10 percent of reserves.
Well there you have it. Do you think that if Japan is going to spend 35 BILLION dollars on stocks; that stocks just might go up?? Do you suppose that in looking for return, the Swiss National Bank might have taken some of that "10% of entire reserves" and bought dividend paying US stocks? If the UK plans on spending “billions” on stocks, don’t you feel that maybe the stocks will rise?  If not, then I suggest you check yourself for signs of a frontal lobotomy.  Now some of you will do your best to suggest that "our" Federal Reserve isn't doing that. Well that might be true in the literal outright sense. They have no mandate that says they can go buy stocks outright. Yet over and over Bernanke has said they could and would use "unconventional" ways to combat the slowdown. So could they be buying stock on the quiet? Could be. But there's no doubt what so ever that their bond purchase money ends up in the markets. Follow along...
When the Fed wants to buy up our Governments debt ( because no other countries want it any more) they don't just walk down the hall to the Treasury and knock on the door and say "hey we'd like to buy 4 billion in Treasuries". Nope, that would keep the banks out of the lucre. What happens is that the Fed has to go to the "Primary dealer banks" of which there's about 18 of, and buy the Treasuries from them. Well, if you're buying say 40 billion a month in Treasuries, how much of that is commission or "vig" to the banks? Frankly we don't know, no one seems to have that pricing mechanism. But let's suppose it's relatively high. That's a lot of money that lands in the banks hands. Now, what do the banks do? They hand it to their trading desks. They "buy stocks". So, when you look at the 85 billion a month that Bernanke's giving the banks, to think that "X" amount of that doesn't make it to the stock market is simply STUPID. Don't be stupid. Believe it happens because it does. Remember those reports of the bank trading desks going entire quarters without a losing trade? Billions of dollars and not one misstep. Impossible for us. Normal for them.
The disturbing part of the whole central banks buying stock thing is this... they have unlimited funds. When a Central banker needs money, where does he get it? A computer. He puts in a few figures, hits the button and instantly "money" is created. They can do this all day, every day. There is no limit to the amount of digits they can create. That causes us a real problem. See, stocks are already well higher than they should be. But when you have Central Banks thinking that there's no better place to be than in the stock market, we get abnormal stock action.  For instance CAT comes out and misses earnings, says the world is slowing, and lowers its guidance. A horrid report. What happens to the stock? It's up 6 points from the dip. Who's buying that? Do you think mom and pop are diving into that? Of course not. That's our friendly bankers at work. If the money cost you nothing, you can take risks all day, you have no real skin in the game. That is a distortion of epic proportions folks.
Here's the take away about that. Stocks are up in the face of fading economic reports because the Central's are keeping them there. Period. Just this week we saw so much poor economic news, that in a "normal" market stocks would be down 1000 points. But today? Hell no, we get rallies. Consider this for a second, okay? This week we saw the durable goods report fall for 5.7%, a horrendous number. This week we saw the Richmond Fed report on area manufacturing fall to -3 while estimates were for +6. The Kansas City Fed report was slated to come in at "0" but instead it fell -5. The US flipped its stance and now says Syria is using Chemical weapons on folks meaning we're going to get "more involved". The market experienced a flash crash over a hacked twitter report and tons of folks lost money on stop outs. Then the CBOE system C1 glitched out and options trading on things like the VIX was going unreported and then halted. Europe's bank lending survey showed without a doubt that the Eurozone is firmly in a soft depression.  Should I go on? I don't have to, because right there is more than enough reason for the market to have fallen hard all week. Instead, by Thursday at noon we were threatening the all time S&P high. Mom and pop didn't do that. Mom and pop didn't dive in after the flash crash, the CBOE glitch, the Fed reports or anything else. The BANKS did.
Now I need you to ponder this. I could be called any one of a hundred derogatory slang words for "someone who likes gold and silver". Gold bug, Right wing Gold nut, you name it. I explained to you all about the paper take down they arranged two weeks ago. Well, it didn't do all it was supposed to do. That take down had 2 distinct goals behind it. One was to scare folks away from it. The second was to get it down to a level where they felt good buying it themselves. Well, they did get it down for a bit, so that may have worked. But the idea that they'd scare everyone away from gold by driving the price down has back fired in a big big way. They set gold sales records in Asia and India. The mint ran out of 1/10 ounce gold coins here in the states. They sold 60,0000+ coins the days after the plunge. All across the world, people lined up for hours to buy gold. Most dealers simply "ran out".
Well it isn't just the coin and bullion dealers that are "running out" of the stuff. Did any of you see the COMEX gold depository update for the 25th? The JPM warehouse of commercial gold fell like a rock, as their holdings fell to levels not seen since 2010. Comex "eligible" gold holdings have fallen from 9 million ounces to 6 million. If JPM's commercial holdings fell 64% in virtually a day, where did it go? Who's taken that delivery???
Don't you find it rather odd, that as they tell everyone how lousy gold is as an investment, as they try and scare everyone out of gold and into paper dollars, the Central Banks themselves are enormous buyers of the metal! I can't even make something this blatant up folks. According to another Bloomberg article just published this week, Central bankers have been rabid gold buyers, taking on more than any time since 1964!! Check this...
Central banks bought the most gold since 1964 last year just before the collapse in prices into a bear market underscored investors’ weakening faith in the world’s traditional store of value.Nations from Colombia to Greece to South Africa bought gold as prices rose for an 11th year in 2011, highlighting the reversal of a three-decade-long bout of selling that diminished the world’s biggest bullion hoard by 19 percent. The World Gold Council says they added 534.6 metric tons to reserves in 2012, the most in almost a half century, and expects purchases of 450 to 550 tons this year, valued now at as much as $25.3 billion.
Now isn't that odd? The same folks that discourage gold, the same folks that say it isn't "Money" and it is a relic of an older time, bought 534 TONS of the stuff last year and want another 500 or more this year.  Read this statement and let it really sink in....
Central banks owned 31,671 tons at the end of 2012, about 19 percent of all the metal ever mined, the London-based World Gold Council estimates
Central banks own one fifth of all the gold ever mined. Yet Greenspan and Bernanke have both dismissed it as junk. Garbage. The idiots they parade all day on CNBC tell you it's garbage, it's a joke, it isn't a wise purchase. If it isn't wise to own, why do the CB's want it?? Because they might be criminal but they aren't stupid. "he who owns the gold makes the rules" is a long enduring adage. They understand that. So we have them gobbling up Gold AND stocks. Can you imagine anything so twisted? Is it a Central bankers job to play in the stock market??
I know I must sound like some form of bizarre broken record folks, but here's the bottom line. I don't profess to know any more about the future than any lunatic standing on the corner in New York City. But I can certainly connect dots, dig in under the main stream baloney, and come to conclusions. My conclusions are interestingly still the same. We're in some form of economic end time. The Dollar is losing it's reserve status. Central banks are picking up gold because they know their fiat digital dollars are worthless. The paper metals market has been the tool to keep the metal price down so it doesn't look as much like their paper dollars are fading in value, but they're slowly loosing control of it. They can't rebuild the economy, they can only prop it up and when they stop propping, it will crash. The  stock market is only above 10,000 because of the bankers, as it is one of the few things it can control.
Consider these two headlines that hit Thursday evening...
US-BASED STOCK FUNDS REPORT $7.3 BLN OUTFLOW IN WEEK ENDED WEDNESDAY, MOST SINCE JULY 2012 – LIPPER
US-BASED STOCK ETFS REPORT $8.4 BLN OUTFLOW IN WEEK ENDED WED., MOST SINCE JULY 2012
Now isn't it interesting that as almost 16 billion was pouring out of etf's and stock funds, we challenged the S&P all time again?? Where'd the money come from? You know where. Uncle Ben.
Finally, this whole mess will end one day. But the way the political situation is set up, there's really only two ways out. They stop  the printing, we go through the massive bankruptcies and implosions, pick up the pieces and rebuild....OR... we continue this printing game until the velocity picks up to the point of hyper inflation and everything collapses on that.  I know how "doom and gloom" that sounds, but it is reality. So far they've chosen the "print and hope" strategy.
The ONLY way out of our economic mess is the one that they won't take. We built America on cheap energy and we're loaded with it. We have enough coal, oil, shale, natgas etc, to be the world's supplier. We could change our tax structure, we could get the huge corporations that have billions overseas to have to pony up taxes instead of playing us like AAPL is by selling bonds to raise the cash to do their dividend/buyback. They won't touch their 150 billion in cash, because they'd have to pony up taxes. GE the same. Now MSFT is doing the same thing. NO TAXES. We could cut the zillion layers of red tape we have to go through to do something as silly as opening an ice cream store. There are things we could do right this very second to set in motion an actual "real" recovery. Yet I see absolutely no sign of those things. Thus, we continue down a very ugly path.
While I expect a lot more bumps, grinds, wiggles, attacks and panic... buying physical gold and silver, and taking delivery of that metal is our best shot at getting through all this. It won't be smooth. It won't be painless. But, there's very few "other" choices. I guess the best way to say it is this; 'if Central banks want it, I should want it" and the Central's want it bad. You can almost "feel" them losing control of things.  They're buying stocks folks, the one thing they can indeed make "go higher" if they want. That my friends is the sign of some desperation.

FBI Responsibility for US Terror Plots
By Stephen Lendman
Boston's marathon bombings leave disturbing questions unanswered. Official accounts lack credibility. Mounting evidence suggests FBI responsibility. It doesn't surprise.
Project Censored's fourth top 2013 censored story headlined "FBI Agents Responsible for Majority of Terrorist Plots in the United States." More on that below.
Post-9/11, George Bush declared war on terrorism. It continues under Obama. America needs enemies. When none exist, they're invented.
Muslims are America's target of choice. Numerous innocent victims are entrapped. It occurs when law enforcement officials or agents induce, influence, or provoke crimes that otherwise wouldn't be committed.
Project Censored discussed Russia Today's report. It headlined "FBI organizes almost all terror plots in the US."
Mother Jones covered the same issue. Its article titled "The Informant" said "(T)he FBI has built a massive network of spies (allegedly) to prevent another domestic attack. But are they busting terrorist plots - or leading them?"
The FBI employs around 15,000 undercover agents. In 1975 they numbered 1,500. In 1980 it was 2,800. By 1986 it was 6,000.
They're involved in sting operations designed to entrap. They're well paid. They earn around $100,000 per assignment or more.
Law-abiding people are targeted. According to Mother Jones, "in case after case, the government provides the plot, the means, and the opportunity."
FBI informants target Muslim communities. They seek members unhappy with America's imperial war agenda. Mother Jones said their names are "cross-referenced with existing intelligence data, such as immigration and criminal records."
"FBI agents may then assign an undercover operative to approach the target by posing as a radical. Sometimes" a plot is proposed. Explosives and/or other weapons are provided.
Once "enough incriminating information" is gotten, an arrest follows. A press conference announces another "foiled plot."
The process repeats ad nauseam. From fall 2010 - fall 2011 alone, Mother Jones and the Investigative Reporting Program at UC-Berkeley examined 508 alleged terrorism prosecutions. They found:
  • ¥ nearly half involved paid informants;
  • ¥ sting operations targeted 158 defendants;
  • ¥ agent provocateurs were involved in 49 plots;
  • ¥ "with three exceptions, (all) high-profile domestic terror plots of the last decade were actually FBI stings;"
  • ¥ most often, "key encounters" between informants and targets aren't recorded;
  • ¥ proving entrapment is hard to impossible; and
  • ¥ even when evidence is suspect or lacking, beating terrorism-related charges in court rarely happens.
According to defense attorney Martin Stolar:
"The problem with the cases we're talking about is that defendants would not have done anything if not kicked in the ass by government agents."
The FBI "create(s) crimes to solve crimes so they can claim a victory in the war on terror."
Attorney General Eric Holder defends entrapment. He's done so publicly. He's done it by calling provocative targeting terrorism stings. He's unapologetic.
In March 2012, he spoke at Northwestern University School of Law. "We are a nation at war," he said.  "And, in this war, we face a nimble and determined enemy that cannot be underestimated."
Justice Department lawyers and agents aim to "detect and disrupt terrorist plots, to prosecute suspected terrorists, and to identify and implement the (so-called) legal tools necessary to keep the American people safe."
He defended disturbing practices involved, as well as military commissions and targeted assassinations of individuals alleged to be "imminent threat(s)."
He justified lawless practices on grounds of national security.
Earlier in December 2010, he addressed a San Francisco area Muslim audience. He called tactics used an "essential law enforcement tool in uncovering and preventing terror attacks." He did so despite evidence many times they're used to entrap.
Attendees weren't pleased. Muslim Advocates president, Farhana Khera said entrapment operations "may be getting people involved in (alleged) terrorism who otherwise would not have done anything."
"These operations also divert investigators from actual threats and provoke widespread anti-Muslim sentiment," she added.
According to Council on American-Islam Relations spokesman Ibrahim Hooper:
"We maintain concerns about FBI policies regarding informants in mosques and provocateurs in our community."
"There's a sense of being under siege in many Muslim communities. People just assume there are agents or informants in their mosque now. It's a fact of life."
Law Professor David Cole says beating terrorism-related charges is near impossible. He told Mother Jones:
"The plots people are accused of being apart of - attacking subway systems or trying to bomb a building - are so frightening that they can overwhelm a jury."
It dares not convict. Members are intimidated to do so. Disturbing unconstitutional issues aren't addressed. Prosecutorial and FBI claims about keeping Americans safe don't wash. Many cases explain why.
In December 2010, the Washington Post headlined "Tension grows between Calif. Muslims, FBI after informant infiltrates mosque," saying:
Craig Monteilh, aka Farouk al-Aziz, code name Oracle, spied on dozens of Irvine Islamic Center Muslims. He did so "in a quest for potential terrorists....But the FBI's approach has come under fire from some Muslims."
"In the Irvine case, Monteilh's mission....backfired. Muslims were so alarmed by his talk of violent jihad that they obtained a restraining order against him."
They reported him to the same FBI office that recruited him. He helped build terrorism charges against a mosque member. It collapsed.
The Justice Department "took the extraordinary step of dropping charges against the worshipper, who Monteilh had caught on tape (allegedly) agreeing to blow up buildings, law enforcement officials said."
"Prosecutors (falsely) portrayed the man as a dire threat."
Monteilh went public. He revealed FBI tactics. He said his "handlers" trained him to enrap Muslims in mosques, at home and at work.
He was a well-paid informant. Court records and other documents showed he got $177,000 tax free in 15 months.
Southern California Muslims cited a pattern of pervasive surveillance and entrapment. According to Islamic Shura Council of Southern California Executive Director Shakeel Syed:
"The community feels betrayed. They got a guy, a bona fide criminal (just out of prison for grand theft), and obviously trained him and sent him to infiltrate mosques."
"And when things went sour, they ditched him and he got mad. It's like a soap opera, for God's sake."
Most FBI informants are either charged suspects, convicted felons, or undocumented immigrants facing deportation. In return for cooperation, leniency is offered.
Monteilh was a convicted felon. He was involved in ripping off cocaine dealers. He became a Drug Enforcement Administration asset. He later agreed to be an FBI informant.
According to Mother Jones, informants' "first assignment is often a fishing expedition." They've testified in court that "FBI handlers tasked them with infiltrating mosques without a specific target…."
They're "directed to surveil law-abiding Americans with no indication of criminal intent."
They're told to infiltrate mosques without probable cause. They look for likely targets to entrap. Muslims are America's target of choice. Innocence is no defense.
Guilt by accusation works. Prosecutors claim another war on terror victory. Innocent people suffer.
Boston bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaeve is Washington's latest victim. Media scoundrels convicted him in the court of public opinion. Authorities claim he confessed. His last Facebook message said:
"This will be the last message before the police get me. I never 'done' it. They set me up. Father please forgive me. I am sorry it has come to this."
It bears repeating. Innocence is no defense. Lies substitute for truth. Imperial priorities matter most.
America's war on terror shows no mercy. It's institutionalized. Everyone's harmed. Freedom is fast disappearing.
America's war on humanity continues. Full-blown tyranny looms.

POLICE TOLD TO CHOOSE: GUN CONTROL OR CONSTITUTION
By Drew Zahn
“This is a message to every member of law enforcement and the military,” a sizzling new YouTube video begins. “You know you have a choice to make.”
The video, produced by a man identified on Facebook as Aaron Hawkins, is a challenge to those who enforce America’s laws, warning them the day is coming when gun-control legislation will undermine the U.S. Constitution’s Second Amendment and police forces will be asked to restrict or even confiscate American citizens’ firearms.
On that day, the video warns, America’s lawmakers will have committed “treason,” and the nation’s police and military will be forced to choose “which side of history you’re going to be on.”
The video, titled “Police & Military – Time to Choose,” cites alleged offenses already enacted against the Constitution from both current and past presidential administrations, including the Patriot Act – which expanded the federal government’s use of domestic security and surveillance powers – and the National Defense Authorization Act – which many worry opens the door to indefinite detention of American citizens without trial.
“At this juncture in history, there can be no question that those holding the reins of power in Congress and the Senate and in the executive branch no longer represent the rule of law,” the video continues, “By destroying the Constitution with the Patriot Act and the NDAA and numerous other police-state measures, they have abandoned every shred of legitimacy and have made themselves into enemies of the people.”
Hawkins, who administers a site called StormCloudsGathering.com, paints the picture in stark terms, but says he hopes principled police and military will rather refuse to enforce the laws than permit a conflict over firearms turn to civil war.
“You took an oath to defend the Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic,” the video reminds the police and military. “The Congress, the Senate and the executive branch have made themselves into a domestic enemy, and they are going to attempt to use you to help them. It’s time to choose which side of history you’re going to be on.
“Any congressperson or senator who puts their name to any law which infringes on the right to bear arms should be arrested for treason. That would be a literal fulfillment of your oath,” Hawkins continues. “If you don’t want the situation to come to that … send a letter to every congressperson, senator and state lawmaker, a letter not asking them nicely to abide by the Constitution, but letting them no on no uncertain terms what will happen to them if they don’t. Make it clear to them that not only will you refuse to enforce their edicts, but they will be defining themselves as enemies of the Constitution and of the people, if they go down this road.”

PBS Drops Another Bombshell: Wall Street Is Gobbling Up Two-Thirds of Your 401(k)
By Pam Martens
If you work for 50 years and receive the typical long-term return of 7 percent on your 401(k) plan and your fees are 2 percent, almost two-thirds of your account will go to Wall Street. This was the bombshell dropped by Frontline’s Martin Smith in this Tuesday evening’s PBS program, The Retirement Gamble
This is not so much a gamble as a certainty: under a 2 percent 401(k) fee structure, almost two-thirds of your working life will go toward paying obscene compensation to Wall Street; a little over one-third will benefit your family – and that’s before paying taxes on withdrawals to Uncle Sam.
To put it another way – you work for Wall Street. You are their slave, their lackey and as long as their toadies dominate in Congress, nothing is going to change on the legislative front to stop the looting. Wall Street seized millions of homes through illegal foreclosures and stripped the equity from the owners. They got away with it. Some Wall Street firms further enriched themselves making bets that the housing market would collapse, using their inside knowledge of the bogus loans they had made. They got away with that also. Now Wall Street is busy asset stripping the retirement plans of the working class in America while President Obama proposes to cut Social Security benefits through a discredited calculation called Chained CPI – conveniently causing people to save more in their 401(k) plans to make up for the potential loss. But the more you save, the more Wall Street asset strips.

WORLD MARKET UPDATE

The War On Terror Is Over. America Lost.
By James Corbett
It has often been observed that the war on terror is unwinnable. After all, how could a war on an abstract noun ever have its “Mission Accomplished” moment? It is, according to this wisdom, meant to drag on forever.
Just because a war can't be won, however, doesn't mean it can't be lost. The truth is that the war on terror is over. And America has lost.
Just look at the images of the Watertown lockdown. A city under a supposedly “voluntary” lockdown that was in fact enforced by bands of roving SWAT team members going door to door, forcibly removing people from their own homes at gunpoint. Whatever the use of the word “voluntary” might mean in this case, I defy anyone to differentiate these images from a martial law scenario.
And yet, amazingly, the media does not show us images of enraged Bostonians. It does not interview those who were treated this way by the SWAT teams. It does not ask those people directly affected what they think, or report on dissent. Instead, we are shown images of mindless celebrations orchestrated to the score of that age-old chant of the mob that has lost all capacity to reason critically: “USA! USA! USA!” Surely it is a mob far under the hypnotic spell of the mainstream fear programming that can cheer the destruction of their own rights. It is even more perverse that this destruction is being done in the name of two bumbling college-age boys who, it must be stressed, have yet to be proven guilty of anything.
The irony seems to be lost on much of the American population that scenes like these are precisely what the all-pervasive “terrorist” boogeymen supposedly want: a people so enslaved to the fear of their own shadow that the actions of two hapless misfits can cause such chaos and the disruption of so many people's lives. This irony is certainly NOT lost on a government that has tried its utmost to make people afraid of the so-called terrorist threat over the past decade.
Yes, the terrorists hate you for your freedom. So who are the terrorists? And who is trying to take away your freedoms?
If terrorism is the use of violence to further political ends, then the real terrorists by definition are the ones who are ramping up the fear after each and every incident in order to shape the public's perception. Has some shadowy group of scary bearded men with turbans really caused the American population to cower in fear at the first sign of a homemade explosive anywhere in the country? Or has the government and their cronies in the media primed the population to be afraid of something that, statistically, is less likely to kill someone on American soil than a bee sting?
In the end, the questions answer themselves. All that is needed is reflection over what we have witnessed play out over the past week: an Orwellian two minutes of hate directed not at these boys-- about whom almost nothing is known except for their previous contact with the FBI--but at the ghost that has been haunting America's nightmares ever since the Bush Administration conjured them into existence.
These ghosts will continue to haunt the American population until they, and their likeminded allies around the world, choose to wake up from the nightmare. After all, you can't win a fight against a ghost. You can lose one, however. The events of the past week have proven that much.

Put Your Hands UP!!!
By Bob Rinear
I'm not going to make any liberal friends with this particular post and frankly that's fine. But I have to say what I feel, it just happens to be who I am. So, what am I going on about? The Boston "thing". While I'm not going to get dragged into the "was this a false flag" operation, simply because there's so many twists and turns to this story that you can make out of it what you want. But there was one thing that wasn't made up. There's no question it happened and no question it is one of the most disturbing things I've ever seen.  We were under complete and utter marshal law, and every right you thought you had was suspended.
There's numerous video posted on You tube concerning all this. I find it absolutely disgusting. So, let’s chat about it for a minute. Yes two bombs went off in a crowd, just like you might find happening in the Middle East. Yes some 285 folks were maimed and yes, it was evil in its purest form.  I can think of nothing as vile as placing bombs in a crowd to kill and maim hundreds, while not a one of those people did anything to you.  I said last week that who ever did this should be roasted over an open fire and I didn't just mean that in the poetic license sort of fashion. I mean string them up, roast them alive, put it on TV. Show the world that if you want to blow up innocent women and children who mean nothing to your cause, you're going to wish you hadn't.
So my desire to find the culprits was just as intense as anyone else's. But therein lays the problem. While we all wanted to see the bad guys caught... what were we willing to do, to make it happen? Evidently scrapping every right granted to us by the Constitution seemed "okay" for most. Well, it isn't okay for me. When they placed Boston on lock down, and basically told everyone to stay home, stay inside, it seemed fairly reasonable. But that was just the preamble to something we've never seen before. They closed down business. They closed the airspace. They shut down all commerce. No matter what you had scheduled for your day, no matter the importance, you were told "no" you won't be doing that. You're going to sit in your house like we told you and do nothing.
Okay, for a lot of folks and I mean MOST people, they accepted that. But already I was struggling with it. They said that there was a dangerous person who had already killed people and was probably armed and willing to kill again. Uhm, okay, but doesn't Miami, Chicago, Detroit, LA, and a hundred other cities chase bad guys virtually every day that are armed, have robbed and killed and would kill again? Yep. Did they shut down Philadelphia during the last chase and shoot out? No. How about Chicago? No. But in Boston? They locked down the city. Your day was no longer yours. It was what they told you it would be.
I watched a lot of the news like you all did. I didn't care about the blathering news people saying the same wrong stuff time after time and breathlessly announcing every single "new news break" that wasn't news and wasn't new. It's their job to amuse the masses. What I focused on was the military response. The Swat response. The Police response. Thousands and thousands of heavily armored men, carrying every imaginable tactical weapon streamed in, some in military styled vehicles. Groups of 10, 15 even 20 completely outfitted "officers" poured out of armored vehicles, each with an "assault rifle" in hand. By some estimates over 9,000 of these paramilitary "people" swarmed the area. So just make note of that for a minute. 9,000 men armed for absolute battle with the latest in high tech gear all carrying assault rifles, to look for one 19 year old kid.  Do they amass that kind of an army when killers run loose in other towns?
It was one thing to hear that the town was locked down. It was another thing to see wave after wave of these men pour out onto the streets. But it was something completely different to see some of the video's posted about the "house to house" sweeps they were conducting. I sat absolutely stunned watching these people march into home after home looking for the bad guy. While I'm all for catching the killer, I am not alright with them forcing their way into folks homes. Supposedly they were only allowed in if you wanted them or allowed them in. But there's been several video's on line where people are marched out of their houses and screamed at to keep their hands up.  Several of the video's that were posted have already been flagged and removed by you tube.
I have no idea what the Boston bombing was ultimately all about and we won't know for quite some time. Were they looking to frame up some right wing guy that reloads his own ammo using black powder, so they could outlaw black powder sales, but it went wrong and they had to use the foreign patsies? Was it really just as simple as two brothers that were led astray by their religious beliefs? Were the photos of the paramilitary "for hire" guys the reason the official story has so many ups and downs? Again, I'm not going to profess to know the answers to this. But, I've been on record telling you that "they" whomever you wish to call "they" have been gearing up for social unrest and martial law. We just witnessed it in full bloom. Never before has a city been shut down like that. Never before have some 9000+ tactical "troops" been on the ground going door to door with loaded assault rifles. Never before have waves of armored vehicles complete with every bell and whistle that the Pentagon can supply been amassed in one area.
I wanted to get the people that set off the bombs, just like you and everyone else. But I'm not willing to lay down every so called "right" I'm supposed to have because some hot shots in tactical gear tell me to. A very dangerous precedent has been put in place now, and maybe worse is that the "masses" applauded it. But I'm going to leave you with something that hit me like the proverbial ton of bricks. Please understand where this is coming from.....
I had to drop off some things to an elderly couple I know here in town. Myles and Wanda are a fun couple and Wanda's mom is not only still alive, but lives with them. She's 94 years old this month. As I was putting some things on the kitchen table for Myles, the TV was running in the background and Anya (Wanda's mom) was watching the news. All of a sudden she made a noise like she was getting sick. I asked if she was okay and she said "I haven't seen such a thing since they came to take us away" and then she got up and left the room. I was confused and didn't understand.  See, Anya was a Hungarian Jew and the Nazi's swept from house to house when she was a child.  Those images of those armed men going in and out of each house disturbed her to the core. She'd seen that before. She'd been led out of her home while her parents were powerless to stop it.  That is the very moment that I woke up to the spectacle that I was now watching.
I hope my fears are never borne out. I hope that somehow we avoid economic melt down and the social unrest it would bring. But there's no doubt that we've seen a glimpse of what "they" would bring to the table if it happens. Boston was martial law, you can call it nothing less. Typical every day Americans trying to get on with life were told to stand down as troopers stormed through their homes. Many will say they are happy about it, it shows how wonderful our security is. I obviously don't go with that particular flow. I saw society being forced to submit to the whims of the "officers" on a mission. Just what exactly would have happened  (or did and we don't know the outcome) if they banged on a door and the person inside said "there's no one hiding in here, go away?"  Would they bust in? Would they shoot him? Tear gas? I don't know. I just know that in other parts of the country where folks are a bit more accustomed to standing their ground, I could see things get ugly.
I think the last question is the big one. If someone resisted entrance to one of these swat folks, despite having nothing to hide... would he be fired upon?  Many would say that if he had nothing to hide, he shouldn't have any issues. Well Anya didn't have anything to hide either. We all need to ponder that.

Terrorists "R" Us
By Stephen Lendman
State-sponsored terrorism defines US policy. Doublespeak duplicity conceals it. Doublethink manipulates public opinion to ignore inconvenient truths.
Howard Zinn once asked: "How can you make war on terrorism if war is terrorism?" Waging war on terrorism "gives government a perpetual war and a perpetual atmosphere of repression."
"And it generates perpetual profits for corporations. But it's going to make the world a far more unstable and dangerous place."
"Terrorism replaced communism as the rationale for the militarization of the country, for military adventures abroad, and for the suppression of civil liberties at home."
Since WW II, "there has not been a more warlike nation in the world than the United States."
Zinn added that "(g)overnments are terrorists on an enormously large scale." None in world history match America. Waging war on humanity is official policy.

Congress Exploits Our Fears to Take Our Liberty
By Ron Paul
This week, as Americans were horrified by the attacks in Boston, both houses of Congress considered legislation undermining our liberty in the name of “safety.” Gun control continued to be the focus of the Senate, where an amendment expanding federal “background checks” to gun show sales and other private transfers dominated the debate. While the background check amendment failed to pass, proponents of gun control have made it clear they will continue their efforts to enact new restrictions on gun ownership into law.
While it did not receive nearly as much attention as the debate on gun control, the House of Representatives passed legislation with significant implications for individual liberty: the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA). CISPA proponents claim that the legislation is necessary to protect Americans from foreign “cyber terrorists,” but the real effect of this bill will be to further erode Americans’ online privacy.
Under CISPA, Internet corporations are authorized to hand over the private information of American citizens to federal agents, as long as they can justify the violation of your privacy in the name of protecting “cyber security”. Among the items that may be shared are your e-mails, browsing history, and online transactions.
Like the PATRIOT Act, CISPA violates the fourth amendment by allowing federal agencies to obtain private information without first seeking a warrant from a federal judge. The law also allows federal agencies to pass your information along to other federal bureaucrats — again without obtaining a warrant. And the bill provides private companies with immunity from lawsuits regardless of the damage done to anyone whose personal information is shared with the government.
CISPA represents a troubling form of corporatism, where large companies cede their responsibility to protect their property to the federal government, at the expense of their customers’ privacy and liberty. In this respect, CISPA can be thought of as an electronic version of the Transportation Security Administration, which has usurped the authority over airline security from private airlines. However, CISPA will prove to be far more invasive than even the most robust TSA screening.
CISPA and the gun control bill are only the most recent examples of politicians manipulating fear to con the people into giving up their liberties. Of course, the people are told the legislation is for “limited purposes,” but authority granted to government is rarely, if ever, used solely for the purpose for which it is granted. For example, the American people were promised that the extraordinary powers granted the government by the PATRIOT Act would only be used against terrorism. Yet soon after the bill became law, reports surfaced that it was being used for non-terrorism purposes. In fact, according to data compiled by the American Civil Liberties Union, 76 percent of the uses of the controversial “sneak-and-peak” warrants where related to the war on drugs!
Sadly, I expect this week’s tragic attacks in Boston to be used to justify new restrictions on liberty. Within 48 hours of the attack in Boston, at least one Congressman was calling for increased use of surveillance cameras to expand the government’s ability to monitor our actions, while another Senator called for a federal law mandating background checks before Americans can buy “explosive powder.”
I would not be surprised if the Transportation Security Administration uses this tragedy to claim new authority to “screen” Americans before they can attend sporting or other public events. The Boston attack may also be used as another justification for creating a National ID Card tied to a federal database with “biometric” information. The only thing that will stop them is if the American people rediscover the wisdom of Benjamin Franklin that you cannot achieve security by allowing government to take their liberties.

Farmers Barred from Viewing 'Gasland' Sequel After Confronting Anti-Fracking Director and Yoko Ono

A group of at least 20 farmers, some who woke at 4:30 a.m. in order to travel to Manhattan for a Tribeca Film Festival screening of Gasland Part II, were barred from seeing the film after questioning celebrity anti-fracking director Yoko Ono, according to filmmaker Phelim McAleer.

Exclusive: Bernanke to skip Jackson Hole due to scheduling conflict
By Alister Bull
Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke will miss the annual Jackson Hole monetary policy symposium this year due to a scheduling conflict, skipping the prestigious event for the first time since taking the helm of the central bank in 2006.
The conference, held in late August in the splendor of the Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, draws top central bankers from around the world. Bernanke's absence would mark the first time in 25 years that a Fed chairman has not attended.
A Fed spokeswoman, responding to a Reuters enquiry, said the chairman was currently not planning to attend because of a personal scheduling conflict.
Bernanke, and former Fed chair Alan Greenspan, whom he succeeded in 2006, have periodically used the setting to preview important U.S. central bank actions. For instance, Bernanke hinted at the impending launch of a third round of massive bond purchases by the Fed - dubbed QE3 - at the conference last August.
In 2008, the conference effectively became the site of an economic war room as top policymakers huddled to figure out how to tamp down a virulent financial crisis as investment bank Lehman Brothers hurtled toward collapse.
This year's meeting would have been viewed as an excellent opportunity for Bernanke to signal that the central bank might be leaning toward tapering bond purchases, if the economy continues to recover as officials hope.
The Fed is currently buying $85 billion worth of U.S. Treasury and mortgage-backed bonds every month, and is expected to vote to maintain that pace at its upcoming meeting on April 30-May 1.
The Jackson Hole event is the foremost monetary policy conference in the annual global central banking calendar and gathers a who's who of policy thinkers and practitioners.
Started by the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank in 1978, the symposium is held in the park's Jackson Lake lodge, overlooking the majestic Teton mountain range.

FBI faces questions over previous contact with Boston bombing suspect
By Ed Pilkington & Miriam Elder
Agency admits it interviewed Tamerlan Tsarnaev in 2011 'at request of foreign government' but did not find 'terrorism activity'
As questions were raised about how well known the brothers were to federal investigators, their mother, Zubeidat Tsarnaeva, said that the FBI had spoken to the family on multiple occasions. In an interview broadcast by Russia Today before the end of the manhunt on Friday, Tsarnaeva, a naturalised US citizen, said FBI agents had spoken to her in the past.
Home-grown terrorist attack threatens to disrupt Obama’s second-term agenda
By Amie Parnes
Republicans are already raising questions about the FBI interview, though there has been no direct criticism of Obama on the issue yet.
House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-Texas) called the revelation of the FBI interview with Tamerlan Tsarnaev, which came after queries by the Russian government, “very disturbing” in a Friday interview with CNN.
Guns, immigration reform and a “grand bargain” deal on the deficit that would include tax hikes and entitlement reforms are the president’s big agenda items this year.

WORLD MARKET UPDATE

While You Were Sleeping...
By James Corbett
A funny thing happens during the 24/7 news cycle in the headlong rush of a breaking news story: people become fixated on one story to the exclusion of everything else. Of course, that is exactly what happened with the developments in Boston this week. Since there is nothing I could say here that you won't have already heard in triplicate (and likely several hours ago) by the time you read this, why don't we turn our attention to some of the unreported stories that have slipped under the radar during the Boston bombing coverage? After all, the powers-that-shouldn't-be are well aware of how to use these types of events as sleights-of-hand to distract the public from moves being made elsewhere on the political chessboard.
Without further ado, let's delve into five stories you probably missed during the Boston hysteria:
1 – CISPA passed the House (again)
The Cyber Information Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA) has passed the US House of Representatives on its way to the Senate...again. It first passed the House on April 26th of last year but failed to make it through the Senate after a concerted campaign to raise public awareness rode the coattails of the SOPA/PIPA protests to get the legislation stopped.
For those who have no idea about CISPA or why it's important, the bill would provide a legal framework for facilitating real-time data sharing of customer information between websites/ISPs and the government. CISPA would allow companies to collect all manner of user information under the guise of 'monitoring cybersecurity threats' and share that data with the government, including the FBI, the NSA, and literally hundreds of other government agencies. The type of data collected could include (but would by no means be limited to) data from private communications. The fight now moves to the Senate, where wrangling over amendments to appease some of those pesky “civil liberties activists” is likely.
If all of these 'cybersecurity' bills threatening your fundamental internet rights and freedoms are starting to blur into a stream of baffling acronyms and boring computer jargon, you're not alone. In fact, that's the point. It's a war of attrition, and the first side to give up loses. For those internet users who are sick of scrambling to mount protest movements and public awareness campaigns against these bills, I will leave you with a search term that might just offer an actual solution to the problem of internet censorship: wireless mesh networks. Just don't use Google to search it (I use Startpage.com myself).
2 – US troops are staging in Jordan to assist Al Qaeda in Syria
As The Corbett Report first reported a year and a half ago, US troops have been on the ground in Jordan near the Syria border for some time now. But now even CNN is reporting that there are 200 US soldiers staging along the Syrian border in what could be the next escalation in the ongoing conflict.
We have known for some time now about the various help that the US government has been providing the so-called “rebels” in Syria. The CIA, for example, has been aiding in arms airlifts into Syria since at least early 2012. Other direct US monetary and logistic support for the country's opposition factions has been ongoing in various capacities for years, even back to the Bush administration. Now it is being revealed that the US government has been footing the bill for a covert operation to provide food aid to Syrian rebels. But as the Washington Post is pointing out, it's the US's new best friends in Syria, the “al-Qaeda”-linked Jabhat al-Nusra that is taking the credit for it. In effect, even the mainstream media is admitting that the US is funding al-Qaeda's PR effort now. (What was that about a terrorist manhunt in Boston?...)
The latest deployment of US troops along the Syrian border is a blatant provocation and undoubtedly designed to provoke some sort of response from Syrian forces. At the moment, we have no way of knowing whether the deployed troops are preparing for specific operations or whether this is merely meant for intimidation. But this much is certain: if the NDAA 2012 was actually enforced as written, the entire Obama Administration would have to be indefinitely detained by the US military for aiding and abetting terror groups in Syria.
3 – US on the brink of $10 billion arms deal with Israel, Saudis, UAE
The US DoD is using the ever-helpful Iranian boogeyman as the excuse to ink a massive $10 billion arms deal with Iran's regional rivals, including Israel, the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The deal includes a sale of V-22 Osprey aircraft to Israel (the first sale of V-22 Ospreys to any foreign military) and $3 billion in military aid to Israel. The deal would also throw some KC-135s, missiles, and advanced radars into the pot for America's “best” ally. The UAE and Saudis, meanwhile, would purchase some F-16s and precision missiles under the deal.
4 – Afghanistan expecting record opium crop...again
12 years after America began the longest military operation in the history of the Republic (and one year before it's due to “wind down”), Afghanistan is expecting yet another record poppy crop this year. Despite the sporadic and half-hearted efforts by the US and their NATO allies to engage in opium crop elimination over the years, the crop is on course for a record yield this year, thus regaining Afghanistan the undisputed crown as the world's largest opium producer, supplying 90% of the global supply. Prices remain near historic highs for the product, mea
